Amtrak seeks arbitration over delays on Union Pacific tracks

More than a year after a breakthrough deal was reached to help Amtrak trains operate on schedule, the passenger railroad is seeking arbitration to resolve disputes with the Union Pacific Railroad, officials said Monday. Freight disruptions and slow zones on track owned by the Union Pacific are severely delaying Amtrak trains, including on routes through Illinois.
